Heather Tarpley

I have been married for nearly 10 years and am a proud mother of two beautiful children, a six-year old daughter and four-year old son. I hold a Bachelor of Science Degree in Human Communications from SUNY Fredonia College of New York.

My specialty is Business Development.  I have worked within the non-profit world for the majority of my career intertwined with direct sales.  I am currently working from home (yeah!) as a Business Development Specialist with a start-up company based in New Hampshire.  I am also an Independent Representative for Silpada Designs sterling silver jewelry.  Previously, I’ve sold Avon, Arbonne, and Team Beach Body products.

In November of 2011, I returned to the work force after spending nearly three years as a stay-at-home mom, the hardest, least thanked but most enjoyable job of all.  Unlike many mothers, I was fortunate enough to have this opportunity and realize first-hand how difficult this job is.  I’ve never had to wear so many hats in one day.  It gave me the confidence that I needed when I was interviewing for jobs.

I was raised in upstate New York and have two older sisters and a twin.  I currently live in Southern Maryland with my husband and two children.  I enjoy watching movies, exercising and spending time with my family and friends.

I hope to bring a working mom’s perspective along with some laughter and maybe some tears, to the audience of Richlymiddleclass.
