The Rose Rant

It is late at night. I have returned from a long exhausting day of work. I have to catch up on some March Madness happenings and do some housework, then cook dinner for my kid. I have opened a bottle of 2011 Domaine Sorin Rose, cote de Provence…..IT IS EFFING DELICIOUS!!..I have always liked this wine; year after year it has given me consistently delicious Rose. The early spring has me dipping into Rose wines a bit sooner this year. I have had a few so far, some good ones too. Here’s the thing, this Domaine Sorin is MIND BLOWINGLY delicious, I wasn’t sure if I had mentioned this, but be forewarned, this wine is only for those select few (million) who enjoy the experience of an entire Mediterranean summer in a glass, and I mean it completely.

This wine has it all, bright strawberries, raspberries, fresh fine herbs, acid, and that undeniable thirst slacking ability. This producer makes some stunning wines from Bandol (the king of Mediterranean wines). My love of Bandol runs deep (I have an old school framed painting of Bandol hanging in living room) and I have to say that this 2011 Sorin Rose is FREAKING DELICIOUS!……I have shirked all kinds of responsibilities so far tonight, there is no doubt that I will severely suffer tomorrow from lack of sleep because I cannot do anything until I have fully consumed this pitifully small bottle of wine (it is a standard 750ml bottle). I just read that this wine is made from 40% Grenache, 15% Cinsualt, yada yada yada, usual Rhone grapes in 228 vats……I would much prefer to have a vat to this woefully inadequate 750ml…….there is no justice in this world. I am currently being cheated out of roughly one vat minus 750ml’s liters of DELICIOUS ROSE that should rightfully be mine!

Ok, I am now done with my rant, the bottle is empty and I am sad, in closing I would say that everyone should ignore this blog post and Domaine Sorin as well, I think I am going to purchase this in vast quantities, so STAY OUTTA MY WAY on this one….this stuff is seriously good, no joke……..
