Are you one of those people who like doing things backward?

Do you like to have your dessert first?
Do you wear your shirt inside out?
Do you sleep during the day and stay up all night?

If backwards is a way of life for you….
then

Would like to say
Happy National Backward Day!
And for those of you who have never done anything backwards,
live a little today
do something backward!
Have a glass of champagne in the morning

Wear something sexy under your clothing to work
Make out with your partner in the light of day
Have cake for breakfast and eggs for dinner

And if you cannot think of anything backward to do today,
you can always just bake an Upside Down Cake
this of course is the cake of the day!
Upside Down Cake Recipe

Ingredients
¼ Cup of butter/margarine
2/3 cup of packed brown sugar
9 slices of pineapple in juice (drained)
9 maraschino cherries without stem
1 1/3 all-purpose flour
1 cup granulated sugar
1/3 cup shortening
½ teaspoon salt
¾ cup milk
1 egg
Heat oven to 350°F. In 9-inch square pan, melt butter in oven. Sprinkle brown sugar evenly over melted butter. Arrange pineapple slices over brown sugar. Place cherry in center of each pineapple slice.
In medium bowl, beat remaining ingredients with electric mixer on low speed 30 seconds, scraping bowl constantly. Beat on high speed 3 minutes, scraping bowl occasionally. Pour batter over pineapple and cherries.
Bake 50 to 55 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Immediately place heatproof serving plate upside down over pan; turn plate and pan over. Leave pan over cake a few minutes so brown sugar mixture can drizzle over cake; remove pan. Serve warm. Store cake loosely covered. Compliments of Betty Crocker

Hi Jill,
It is something fun to think about. My child got a really good laugh at backwards day. We had fun coming up with something that we could do to celebrate. Hope you are having a great weekend.

Great post, Cynthia!
If it ends up being backward or upside dowb by accident does it still count? Our school used to have a backwards day. Kids wore their clothes backward and walked backward. The more adventurous ones even turned in mirror images of their homework. What fun!

Ha! ha! I just can’t imagine doing that. Wearing my shirt inside out will be something I can’t knowingly do,

Hi Kabenlah,
I don’t think that I could do that either. We decided to have breakfast for dinner so that was our contribution to Backward Day. Hope you are having a great Backward Thursday!

Hi Brenda:
Good for you doing the backwards walk. I have trouble enough with the forward walk and I have the bruises to prove it!
Thanks for visiting RMC and commmenting on Backwards Day.
