Happy Mother’s Day Mom!
To my friends and family at Richly Middle Class, I hope you can give me this moment to express my utmost love and gratitude to the greatest woman and mother I have ever known.
I hope that you may feel moved to do the same on this mother’s day, because as women and as mothers, we must stick together and recognize the journey that we all take.
Mom,
You are my hero, you are my friend, and you are my mother. Those are just words but beyond those words are so much meaning. Since I was a little girl, you were the one I went running to when I was scared or had a “booboo”. When I was three, it was a “booboo” on my knee, now as I have grown, it is a bigger booboo on my heart. I call you at three in the morning in gut-wrenching sobs and you are there. You are there in times of need and times of joy. You are there to hold my hand and you are there to talk sense into me when I am not thinking clearly about my path.
We have been through troubled times in our family, in our relationship and in our lives, but we have all gotten through them together. No one can take that away from us. NO ONE. You have inspired me to be the woman I am today, to be the mother I am to my two little girls, I know to listen to their needs, to not just shoo them off because they are too young to understand. You always listened, you always cared.
I want you to know that I understand too, I care too. I am here for you always and I always will be. We are both women now and our relationship has blossomed and grown into something magnificent, something I could never have imagined. I can only account our growth and our family’s deep love for each other to that of God, His infinite strength and you.
Your strength has sustained me in my times of illness, trouble, sadness and need. Your strength, His strength and our families strength, love, and commitment to each other is all we need in this world and you are the guiding force of that all.
On this Mother’s Day I want to take time to say Thank you. Thank you for being the woman that you are. Thank you for being am amazing wife to my wonderful father, for modeling a marriage that I can only dream of, for being a mom I can model myself after and for still, to this day, surprising me with your compassion, selflessness, love, kindness, empathy and strength to rise above all adversity.
I love you from the bottom of my heart.
Xoxo for now,
Kate
