Comfort Food
Over the last few years, I have noticed that my waist line is not as thin as it used to be. I don’t know that I am doing anything different. But I notice that my body is not burning off the calories as quickly as I find them going into my mouth. To help in my quest to stay sexy, I decided that I should give up comfort foods. Comfort foods for me are hot dogs, cake, chocolate bars, fried eggs and grits. You know all the good stuff that you used to get when you were down in the south. Luckily for me, I don’t get most of it because I don’t know anyone who will share their recipes with me. Or, I guess another issue could be that I have not asked anyone.
Over the Easter holidays, it is a good time to celebrate. I am not a huge fan of lamb except at Easter. Well if you found yourself like me sitting at the dinner table enjoying the wine more than the lamb, you woke up this morning feeling, well, let’s just say less than perfect. When I am feeling less than perfect, I like to reach for my cure which is fried eggs and grits. I don’t know how you feel about them but there is nothing better than fried eggs, grits and bacon mixed together. Oh my, it will make you just want to jump in it and take a bath. So, the next time you find that you have spent a little too much time drinking the wine and not eating the food, maybe try my favorite comfort food. I am not saying that you are going to feel that much better or that it will help your waist line in anyway, but you will have an incredible breakfast. Don’t forget to indulge in a lot of water if you are feeling like the me today.
